  Note: BIOGRAPHY: Hans was a schoolteacher in Preetz Germany. When his first wife died in 1843, he started drinking heavily, lost his teaching job, and did odd jobs and farm work. His brother, Cay Asmus Franz "CAF Kroegersberg", was active in recruiting settlement to Davenport, Iowa. The town took up a collection to send the family to America and Hans remarried and went to Iowa. Hans seems to have died very soon after reaching America. From Brad Larkin BIOGRAPHY: Doris came with her parents' family to America from Preetz, Holstein, Prussia (Germany). They sailed from Hamburg on April 12, 1847 aboard the bark "Harriett" aka "Henrietta". They arrived in New Orleans on June 9, 1847.
