This is the earliest known Gerber house located in the valley of Gohlgraben, north of Vorder Giebel house. The occupants welcomed us warmly and brought out old documents for us to view.

Giebelkellen House
This is another Gerber house called Giebelkellen. It is an early childhood home of Christian Gerber, father of Ernst Gerber. Inside the home is an old stove with an inscription on it of Niklaus Gerber and Barbara Aeschlimann. There was an elderly woman living here with her son. The woman was peeling potatoes to feed to their cattle to ease their stomachs.

At this table, you will find occupants of Baumgarten as well as our group. You can see how friendly they were to our group who showed up unexpectedly and were complete strangers. This was the way we were received everywhere we went.

This old lock was mounted on the Speicher door, and there is a secret way of unlocking it. There appears to be a date of 1640 on it with the initials H and R.

This is the living room area of the Stoeckli. It is in this room where the early ETF church (Neutauefer church) met. It is known as Apostolic Christian Church in the USA.

This photograph is of the Stoeckli, which is a retirement home for the previous occupant of the main house. Once the house is handed down to the youngest male child, the parents move into the Stoeckli. The early "Gemeinschaft Evangelisch Taufgesinnter" or "Fröhlichianer" church met here. In the United States, the church is known as the Apostolic Christian Church.

This dog was at Giebel, presumably lives there. The Sennenhund is a Swiss mountain cattle dog. More information on this breed can be found at www.entlebucher.org
