- [S86] Dieken, Richard, Richard Dieken, 24 Feb 2012.
General Notes:
BIRTH: In those days, there were no incubators, much of the farming was still done by horses, and babies were born at home. When labor began, a doctor was summoned and hopefully he arrived in time to assist with the birth. Later, he made house calls to check on the mother and the child. So was the case with Albert. Albert was born at 10:30 AM. He was in today's parlance premature. There were stories that he was kept nestled in a shoe box and cotton was used for a diaper as he was so very, very small.
BURIAL: Hartford Community Cemetery
BAPTISM: United Methodist Church in Hartford, SD.
